The School produces research focused on fetal and newborn medicine and is supported by the Women and Infants Research Foundation in addition to other funding bodies.

Research is conducted in the areas of:
Research projects have included:
- Animal-based gynaecological DNA ploidy
- Studies of children from 18 weeks gestation to 10 years of age
- Predicting postnatal depression.
Funding
Our research activities attract multiple sources of income, with only 26% of the School's annual budget provided by the Faculty. Publication output has increased seven-fold in previous years, reflecting the strength of the research team.
